ABSTRACT NATURE: Transcending the Material World

Calling all artists! Submit your artworks for “Abstract Nature: Transcending the Material World,” an exhibition that delves into the captivating connections between abstract art and the ethereal beauty of nature. Open to diverse mediums, we invite you to become part of an exhibition that celebrates the enigmatic allure of nature, fostering new connections and inspiring contemplation.

Exhibition Details:

  • Exhibition Dates: July 22, 2023 – August 12, 2023
  • Venue: Blitz Art Gallery, 101 Richmond St. E, Toronto, ON
  • Opening Reception: Sat, July 22, 5pm-9pm ET

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Eligibility:

    • Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to participate.
    • Various artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, are accepted.

  2. Theme:

    • Create artworks that transcend the material representation of nature and delve into the abstract realms.
    • Explore the spiritual, symbolic, and transformative qualities of nature, going beyond literal representation to capture the essence and energy of the natural world.

  3. Submission Process:

    • To submit your artworks, kindly send the following materials via email to gallery@blitzartgallery.com
      • Artist’s full name and contact information 
      • Brief artist statement describing the artistic concept and inspiration behind the submitted artworks.
      • Up to 5 artwork with details: Title, medium, dimensions, and year of creation.
      • High-resolution images of the artworks (JPEG or PNG format).
      • Optional: Additional relevant information, such as links to the artist’s website/portfolio/social media.

  4. Important Dates:

    • Submission Deadline: Sun, June 18, 11:59pm ET
    • Notification of Acceptance: Tues, June 20
    • Artwork Delivery: TBD
    • Exhibition Dates: July 22, 2023 – August 12, 2023
    • Opening Reception: Sat, July 22, 5pm-9pm ET

  5. Exhibition Requirements:

    • If your artwork is selected, you will be responsible for delivering it to Blitz Art Gallery at 101 Richmond St. E, Toronto, ON, during the designated artwork delivery dates.
    • Artworks must be exhibition-ready, appropriately framed or presented, and accompanied by any necessary installation instructions.
    • Artists will be required to provide a brief artist biography (maximum 150 words) for inclusion in the exhibition catalog and promotional materials.

Admission Fee & Commission:

  • Once your artwork is accepted for the exhibition, there will be an admission fee of $40 per piece. Please note that the fee may vary depending on the size of the artwork. Further instructions regarding payment will be provided upon acceptance. *There is no submission fee.
  • A 30% commission will be applied by the gallery upon the sale of artworks.
